The Horn reviewed!

Comic Book and Pulp author, Ron Fortier, has posted a review of The Horn up on his blog and I appreciate the kind words. Among other nice things, he said:

"This short thriller moves rapidly and is a real page turner.  Tyler, whom we last saw in the first Uchronic digest, “The Zeppelin,” is a likeable hero and I hope Miller has lots more of these mini pulps coming our way."

Well, there are at least 2 more Clark Tyler stories on the way. Uchronic Tales: The Studio Spectre and Uchronic Tales: The Claim should be released in the next few months...

And after that? I am working on a longer project featuring Clark... But those secrets will just have to wait...

Coming Soon - Vote for the next Clark Tyler Cover and win the book!

.

.

I am putting the finishing touches on the next Clark Tyler adventure - a massive revision of a story I originally wrote for the terrific Airship 27 Productions. The changes that include adding Clark Tyler to the story and changing out the other main character. It's a tale of old Hollywood...

However, here is my dilemma... I have 2 amazing Mike Fyles covers for this one and I can't decide which one is best - so that is where you come in.

Look at the two covers that are posted here and leave a vote in the comments. I will choose two people to win a free copy of the printed book when it is out (soonish). One of the winners will be chosen from those who voted for the final cover choice. The other winner will be chosen randomly from all of those voting. I will not necessarily choose the cover with the most votes...

Cover One - Action

Cover Two - Adventure

Please, add a comment to help me decide. I think they are both great. In two weeks I will name the winning cover and the winners!

8.28 - I took Andrew Salmon's suggestion and made the Jade Monk and Thug bigger in the Action version...

8.28 later - M.D. Jackson had a different idea for the action cover so I have changed that, cause I like it better than the original...

Zeppelin Reviewed

.

.

Pulp reviewer and author Ron Fortier has just posted a review on his Pulp Fiction Reviews blog of  Uchronic Tales: The Zeppelin. Here are a few of the nice things he had to say:

"Miller’s writing is pulp-perfect and the action nonstop from beginning to end. Tyler is a great, stalwart champion and the young, lovely scientist a spunky spitfire capable of holding her own when the action kicks into high gear."

Having relished this great little book, this reviewer is looking forward to digging into the second titled, “The Horn.”  If it is as good as, “The Zeppelin,” we pulp fans have much to celebrate."

You can find The Zeppelin and the Horn at the links to the right. They are available in print at Amazon, and on Nook, Kindle, and Smashwords.

Pulp of the Week - Uchronic Tales: The Zeppelin

.

.

This weeks Pulp of the Week is a little different because this is the first release from my new publishing endeavor... The Uchronic Press.

Here's the press release:

The Uchronic Press is proud to announce “Uchronic Tales: The Zeppelin,” our debut release. This action-packed 18,000 word novella by W. Peter Miller with a cover by Mike Fyles features the premiere appearance of Clark Tyler, a man that trouble seems to find. Or, perhaps he is just good at finding it. This story is available now on Kindle, with Nook and all other formats to follow as soon as possible.

The Uchronic Press is here to serve all readers that crave action, excitement, and a bit of an edge in their pulp adventure fiction. Our stories take place in an alternate past, a uchronic world greatly like our own, but with a dash more mystery, danger, and the macabre. Here you will find heroic adventures, outlandish science, ferocious alchemy, mystic forces, and an alternate history just slightly larger than our own.

Uchronic Tales: The Zeppelin features a young Clark Tyler, an American airman caught up in a conspiracy that threatens to turn the tide of the Great War. Reich Zeppelins have been bombing London mercilessly, but the night one of them takes a strange detour could turn the tide of the war. The Germans have kidnapped a mysterious passenger and it is up to Clark Tyler and a band of elite commandos to stop the massive airship Eisern Feist from returning her secrets to the Fatherland.

In the months ahead, danger will put Clark and others in a number of Uchronic Tales. Look for stories featuring the classic days of Hollywood, earth-shattering danger, lost civilizations, and bizarre visitors from the unknown aether.

Welcome to Uchronic Tales

Fans of my custom creations should be on the look out for guest stars that may be familiar...

Pulp Preview - Ki-Gor

Back in March I gave the Pulp of the Week treatment to Ki-Gor, the Jungle Lord. What I didn't mention at the time was that I was reading a bunch of Ki-Gor novels as research for a Ki-Gor story that I wrote and turned in to Airship 27.

The story has now been accepted for the upcoming Jungle Tales, Featuring Ki-Gor, the Jungle Lord Volume One from Airship 27 and Cornerstone books. They are the fine publisher of many new pulp stories including the Green Lama book containing my story, The Studio Specter, in the Amazon ad featured on the right. The Jungle Tales book is slated to include 3 Ki-Gor tales, including mine.

Readers of this blog may recognize two of the supporting characters. The first was mentioned in the earliest post of this blog. The other is a mercenary that gained travelling companions in Africa and has more than his share of posts on this blog as well. A No-Prize to the reader who first names both in the comments.

Beyond Ki-Gor, I am working on stories featuring an investigator of my own creation named Clark Tyler in a tip of the hat to my great-grandmother. Clark always seems to run into something bizarre in his investigations. I've finished first drafts of two stories featuring Clark and am in the midst of the third. I hope to finish a book of Clark Tyler tales later this year.
