This is an abbreviated Tannhäuser Tuesday. I will fill in with the proper character sheet later, but here are Michiko's powers...

Special Ability
Astonishing Reflexes - The first time Michiko is successfully wounded by an opposing character, the attack will be limited to one wound.

Crescent Moon Blades - Weapon, Hand-to-Hand - Add 2 dice for each Crescent Moon Blade token on Michiko's card. When this weapon is chosen stack 2 Moon Blade tokens on your card.

Double Attack - Ability - Michiko may attack up to two adjacent characters each turn. When attacking the second character, subtract 1 from each die rolled.

Flying Moon - Ability Michiko Tsuki Ken may throw her Crescent Moon Blades at any figure on her path. You may make two attacks. If the second attack is at the same target as the first, add 2 to each die rolled. Place the Crescent Moon Blade tokens on the target character's circle.

Stamina Pack

Crescent Moon Blades - Weapon, Hand-to-Hand - Add 2 dice for each Crescent Moon Blade token on Michiko's card. When this weapon is chosen stack 2 Moon Blade tokens on your card.

Cherry Blossom - Ability - Add +2 to your sides Initiative Rolls.

Lotus Tea

Dust Tactics - Official Cards With an AT-43 Twist

So here is another project - like I don't have enough to do. Dust Tactics from Fantasy Flight Games is a board game / miniatures game hybrid from Paolo Parente's Dust Games. It is set in an alternate history World War 2.

I have purchased figures for a lot of games, AT-43 among them. So To increase the available forces I am making cards for the AT-43 figures. Oddly, the Red Blok seemed to fit the best, even though I don't have that many Red Blok figures. I ended up using all but one.

Here is the first card. The stats are unchanged from the official ones. I have made both a USA and a Russian version.

In the fullness of time there will a full complement of these... I'd like to thank the Dust Tactics: The War Continues blog for posting the cards. There are also blank cards up on BGG.

For my own use, I'll probably use the one with the Tsar's crest. The figure used is AT-43's Red Blok Odin. She comes in a pack with Manon and the Urod walker.

Tannhäuser Tuesday - Michiko Tsuki Ken

.
.
.

Michiko Tsuki Ken is a Hero recruited from a Japanese slum by the great Chinese Elementalist Wushi Zhu himself. He saw her ferocity and acrobatic skill as a nine year old runaway. When she tried to pick-pocket him on the street Zhu knew she was fearless. He enrolled her in the People's Force One training Dojo immeadiately. Michiko has not disappointed.

Michiko may seem weak at the start of a fight, but once you draw blood, she goes off!

The figure representing Michiko is Kabuki from Indy Heroclix  #077 - $0.29.

I painted her clothes a bit to fit in with the team better. Here’s how she looked originally:

Tannhäuser Tuesday - Bushido Kenshi Pt 1

The Rising Sun Troops part 2

The two troopers in the Peoples Force One are both melee fighters, but they use radically different fighting styles to get their results.

The Japanese Army recruits the best sword and hand to hand fighters into their elite corp of Bushido Kenshi fighters. These men are experts with the Katana and their bare hands and feet. In the Army, these follow the waves of arrows fired by the Kyūdō division, and the charge of the Yari troops, but the People's First is a Commando force that has little use for long range weapons and recruits only the finest experts in personal combat.

Tannhäuser Tuesday - Shàolín Sēngbīng

Shàolín Sēngbīng

The Rising Sun Troops

The two troopers in the People's Force One are both melee fighters, but they use radically different fighting styles to get their results.

The Shàolín Sēngbīng were the first and last Chinese women to graduate from the famous temple in the mountains of China. Young girls from around China were secretly brought to the Shàolín monastery and the best were taught by Miao Xing himself. From this class of 40 students, 10 graduated and became the People's secret weapons.

The figure for the Shàolín Sēngbīng is Lady Shiva from DC Heroclix - Cosmic Justice #059. She can be had for as little as 39 cents. I still need to figure out the faction symbol for People's Force One, so that will have to wait til next week, along with the Tokens and abilities descriptions.

Tannhäuser Tuesday - Eastern Dynasties Preview

The U-Chronic History of
The Peoples Republic of Eastern Dynasties

At the turn of the 20th century, a rapidly modernizing China was threatened by the Boxer Rebellion, a  movement that sought to return the Empress to power. The Chinese people fought back. The Imperial forces were ruthless and killed many Chinese and even more foreigners.

Europe and America were greatly alarmed by this sudden, violent turn and sent a Grand Union of military forces to China to rescue their besieged embassies, merchants, and diplomats. British, Russian, Italian, German, French, Austrian, and American troops all fought side by side. They helped the Chinese defeat the Imperialist Boxers and started China on the path to democracy.

This Grand Union did not last as squabbles between the members quickly led the Russian, Austrian, and German forces to go their separate ways.

In China, the great Sun Yat-sen was appointed as first President. Sun Yat-sen's fervent fight for equal rights gained him a lot of clout in the west, but as the outside world soon learned, China's idea of democracy was starkly different than their own. While Chinese leaders are chosen in free and fair elections, their constitution is vastly different. The state started as the sole property owner. Each individual was granted a share of the land. People can barter and exchange their land, but all income generated is paid to the state and all salaries are paid by the state. Every citizen, from the President on down, receives the same salary. Needless to say, there is a thriving black market.

The Socialist Democracy Movement swept the East. China, Mongolia, Thailand, Siberia, and Japan all adopted similar governments. When the Great War began, the Democratic Socialists decided to stay out of it, and formed a Union of their own: The Peoples Republic of the Eastern Dynasties, known commonly in the West as the Eastern Dynasties, or the Rising Sun.

Their military force is tremendous in size and skill and relies equally on ancient arcane arts and martial arts. Technology has advanced far slower than in the West. Walkers, Tanks, Zeppelins and airplanes are still at their infancy. But their skill with the inner arts - mental and psychic powers - is without compare.

Threatened by the Reich's contact with the U-Worlds and The Matriarchy's contact with ancient Gods, the Rising Sun is finally getting involved in the Great War.

The Rising Sun Expeditionary Force is as exemplified by People's Team One.

Here's the Rising Sun factions first team - The People's Team One - From left to right:

Wūshī Zhǔ Qayan - Hero - Chinese Elemental Sorcerer with power rings and amulet.
Ryokō Seishin - Hero - Japanese Half spirit/half human with cosmic powers.
Ashigaru Budō - Troop - Japanese Bo stick fighter and marital arts expert.
Shàolín Sēngbīng  - Troop - Chinese Monk and aerialist Kung Fu fighter with stone fist.
Michiko Tsuki Ken - Hero - Japanese bladed weapons expert that can threaten multiple foes.

The figures chosen are all inexpensive HeroClix figures. The prices indicated are from Game Hollow, but there are many other online retailers for HeroClix singles. Total figure price is $1.55.

Mandarin - Marvel Heroclix - Xplosion #073 - .49
Yukio - Indy Heroclix #061 - .19
Arashi - Indy Heroclix  #031 - .19
Lady Shiva - DC Heroclix - Cosmic Justice #059 - .39
Kabuki - Indy Heroclix  #077 - .29 - I painted her clothes a bit to fit in with the team better. Here’s how she looked originally:

In the coming weeks I will detail the team. Which name do you prefer - Eastern Dynasties or Rising Sun?

Tannhäuser Tuesday - Catch Up Day

Here are some images of recent Tannhäuser developements. I finally got the FFG Daedalus Pack. The tokens are different than the TOY french one and there is a new map on the back.

The Fantasy Flight Tannhäuser Daedalus Pack

New Fantasy Flight Tannhäuser Labyrinth board

A few new Tannhäuser finished adventurers on the forest camp map

Tannhäuser Indiana Jones with the whip crosses a bridge

Tannhäuser Indiana Jones with the machete

Tannhäuser Pat Savage?

Tannhäuser Doc Savage

Tannhäuser Indiana Jones

The Indiana Jones figures are a mash-up of Reaper minis parts, Pat is a Reaper minis Cowgirl, but I am thinking that the figure is a decent fit because that is what Pat Savage would have looked like when we first meet her in Brand of the Werewolf. I am marginally happy with the paint jobs on these figures, but very happy they are done. I have come to realize that I suck at the eyes. I think I am too impatient, but they are not good. The rest of the paint jobs are serviceable. I may try out a painting service for the minis of Doc's men.

I am most pleased with the ripped shirt on Doc Savage. I used the heavy foil from a wine bottle and carefully tore it into tiny strips and superglued it to the figure prior to painting.

Next up will be to make a page for the Tannhäuser BPRD and to get going on the Rising Sun Faction.

Tannhäuser Tuesday - Indiana Jones Complete

Normally, I like to use prepainted minis for my custom characters, but sometimes I make exceptions. Doc Savage, for instance. And today's subject, Indiana Jones. What needs to be said about the most popular pulp and movie serial based character for today's audiences. If adventure has a name, it must be Indiana Jones. Or so the trailer for Temple of Doom said.

Unfortunately, there are no Indiana Jones Heroclix. Thankfully Reaper Miniatures makes a line of figures called, Chronoscope. One of the first figures in that line was Jack Harrison. He comes with multiple arms and heads and fills the bill.

However, Jack/Indy must be painted. This would take a normal minis painter 3 or 4 sessions to finish. Me, over 2 years. There was a long break in there, though. I have made two of them; one with the whip and one with a machete.

I will probably base one for Tannhäuser and one for Heroscape. These are almost done, they just need a few finishing touches and their bases fixed up.

Tannhäuser Tuesday - BPRD - Roger the Homunculus

I'm working on it! I think I've posted all the finished cards and now I'm working on the new ones. These take at least 5 - 10 hours each. I'll put it up Roger when I'm done. Here are a couple of sneak previews...

The BPRD has planted a bomb inside Roger. This bomb must detonate if certain conditions are met. I finished the bomb icon, but as you can see the language still needs adapting to the new rules.

The Gauss Gun graphic is done - red strip needs to be removed and language needs to be adjusted.

The Power Cell is in good shape, only needing a drop shadow behind the icon.

Incredible Strength needs a drop shadow behind the icon and the language to match the revised edition rules.

I still need to finish the bio and finish filling in the other packs. I know all the items, but need to finish graphics and text.

Tannhäuser Tuesday - The Jackal

MOELLER'S HERMETICS
Part 3

The Jackal introduces a new characteristic - Companion.

Companions may accompany their owner without taking up a troop slot, they are additional figures with their own character sheet that may enter the game during the first turn. They do not get reinforcements if they are eliminated.
